A familiar face to most of us, Michael George is the Cincinnati Park Board Naturalist in charge of the Burnet Woods Trailside Nature Center. He holds degrees in cultural anthropology and horticulture and is an Interpretative Guide certified by the National Association of Interpretation (a guide trained to interpret the natural world for the lay person).
After starting with Cincinnati Parks in 1999, he ran the Avon Woods Nature Center in Paddock Hills. He transferred to Trailside Nature Center at the time of its grand re-opening in June of 2007.
Mr. Mike came to Cincinnati in 1977 and has spent the years since studying the cultural and natural history of Cincinnati and surrounding regions. In his spare time, he is an avid hiker and outdoor enthusiast and enjoys gardening and catching bugs with his daughter.
He runs the many Trailside nature programs and also is involved time to time with activities at the other Cincinnati Parks Nature Centers and with various outreach programs. You will see Mr. Mike most weekdays, inside and outside Trailside Nature Center, and he is always glad to share a hello and a chat.
